Hi Guys

Happy Easter to all our wonderful clients, hope everyone has a great Easter.

Today I'm going to share with you a little more in-depth about our infrared slimming treatment. It has been going down a treat with our clients since we introduced it a few weeks ago. And we have seen some amazing results
We still have lots of clients enquiring wondering how it works, so I'll explain all here....

Infrared Sauna Blanket-
Lose up to 600 - 900 calories in 30 min - the equivalent of running 10-15 km!
Because fat becomes water soluble at around 44ºC, subcutaneous fat can be released along with sweat and toxins.  The Infrared Sauna Blanket is an especially valuable system for those who don’t exercise and for those who cannot exercise yet want an effective weight control and fitness program, giving them the benefits that regular exercise brings.

Heat therapy relieves our bodies from stress and fatigue and improves the body’s defenses during stress, something we all experience and somehow need to cope with in our daily rushed lives.  The added advantage of the Infrared Sauna Blanket is that this treatment aids in the treatment of cellulite, obesity and skin disease.  This makes it a great treatment to use in conjunction with any weight loss program and especially our minimi or shrinking violet body wrap treatments.

HOW DOES THE INFRARED BLANKET WORK?

The human body can easily absorb infrared heat because of its deep penetrating ability.  Studies show that infrared waves can actually penetrate up to 2-3 inches deep into muscular tissue and ligaments.
When infrared heat penetrates through the skin into muscular tissue and ligaments, it transforms from light energy into heat energy.  The thermal effect within the deep layers of tissues cause blood vessels in capillaries to dilate which improves blood circulation and promotes healing and wellness.

The body responds to the deep heating effect of infrared via a hypothalamic-induced increase in both heart volume and rate as body increases sweat production to cool itself.  The heart works harder pumping blood at a greater rate to boost circulation, supplying the conditioning benefits of a continuous exercise.  Heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate increases, while diastolic blood pressure drops for improved overall cardiovascular fitness.

The lower infrared temperature ranges are found to be very safe for those with cardiovascular risk.  This conditioning has even greater benefit to those who are unable to exercise.  Thus, the infrared sauna blanket will provide overall, systematic treatment of muscles, joints, and body especially for areas often not regularly addressed through movement and exercising.

Although weight loss from perspiration is quickly regained by re-hydration with water, the infrared sauna blanket’s effect of sending more blood to the capillaries and converting fats results in more than 600 -900 calories being burnt in just one 30 minute session – the equivalent of running 10-15 km.  As our body expends energy to produce sweat (1gm. sweat requires 0.586 kcal), a moderately conditioned person can easily sweat off up to 1000 grams or more in a session.

If you would like to try out this treatment at The Beauty Suite, it will cost you €75 or we also provide a package at a reduced rate when paid in full.
Lots of our clients have also booked in for a facial at the same time as having their slimming treatment. Great chance to double up your appointments instead of having to visit the salon on two separate visits. Another popular combination with this treatment is also high definition brows or an eye trio.

Hope this post gave you a little more insight into how our latest body treatment works.

Hi Guys
We have been receiving loads of calls and messages enquiring about our new LED Treatment. So I've put together this blog post covering all the questions I have been asked over the last few days. Scroll through and you should find all the info you are looking for on our latest treatment at The Beauty Suite. Hope you find this post useful.

How does LED Phototherapy work?

LED Phototherapy uses colour wavelengths of visible light which have specific rejuvenating benefits within the skin. Skin cells have the ability to absorb light and use it as a source of energy to fuel the repair and rejuvenation of damaged cells or kill bacteria. It is a natural biochemical reaction similar to that of plant photo-synthesis.

The increased energy enhances cellular metabolism which in turn stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, boosts circulation and accelerates tissue repair. Studies have shown that when skin is exposed to LED light, skin cells regenerate themselves on average 150% to 200% faster and hydration can be increased by up to 600%. This whole process results in radiant, youthful and naturally healthy skin.

LED Red Light

Combined Lights benefits include:
Improved acne treatment
Gently purifies without irritation

Your Questions Answered
Is LED light therapy the best treatment for my skin?
Everyone can benefit from light therapy. It reverses the signs of ageing, clears acne and blemishes and accelerates healing. It helps damaged, injured or diseased skin cells return to optimum health.

What skin conditions can be treated with LED light therapy?
Light therapy is clinically proven for the treatment of a wide range of skin conditions and the most common skin concerns including lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damage, dehydration, open pores, acne and blemishes, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.

Are there any side effects?
No. There is no risk of irritation, side effects or down time that may be associated with more invasive procedures. There have been no reported side effects in over 1,700 clinical studies and it does not harm the body in any way.

Is LED light therapy safe?
LED light therapy is a heat free treatment that does not contain harmful UV wavelengths and therefore cannot damage skin tissue or create photosensitivity. It is clinically proven to be safe for all skin types, including darker skins and the most sensitive skin conditions.

What does light therapy feel like?
LED light therapy is a non invasive and pain free treatment that promotes a feeling of relaxation and wellbeing whilst rejuvenating the skin. Exposure to the light can increase serotonin levels which in turn help to relive stress, tension and headaches. Any feeling of 'heat' is most often due to the stimulation of blood circulation.

How soon can I expect to see results?
With light therapy the visible effects are immediate. After just one treatment skin is incredibly hydrated, plump and radiant and any redness and irritation is calmed.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments can vary with age, skin type and condition. With light therapy the results are instant and improvement will continue even after the treatment has stopped. Treatments taken in quick succession will achieve optimum results and maintenance treatments may also be recommended. Furthermore, as light therapy does not harm the skin, there is no limit to the amount of treatment you can have.

How long will the results last?
Results can last for several months following a course of light therapy treatments. However, as with any skin treatment, maintenance sessions are advised to ensure lasting results.

Are there any precautions needed?
Visible light will not cause any damage to the eye, even with deliberate exposure. As the light is very bright, we recommend the use of the protective eye goggles provided for comfort purposes. With infrared light, client goggles must be worn for the duration of the treatment.

I am taking medication from the doctor can I still have light therapy?
There are certain circumstances in which light therapy may prove to be unsuitable. Certain medications may causes photosensitivity and specific conditions may be triggered by light. For your safety and comfort, it is imperative that any medication illness, condition or other treatment that you may be undergoing are fully disclosed during your consultation.

Does light therapy produce the same light as sunlight?
LED light therapy uses specific wavelengths of visible light. Sunlight is made up of a whole spectrum of visible and invisible wavelengths that we see as white light or 'day light'. Light therapy uses only safe wavelengths that are proven to have therapeutic effects in the skin and does not contain UV wavelengths.

Will light therapy give me a tan?
No. Light therapy does not contain the harmful UV rays that stimulate the melanin in the skin to produce a 'sun tan' effect. However, LED's stimulate hydration and blood circulation and will instantly give your skin a healthy and radiant glow.

Can I go in the sun after light therapy?
Yes. As light therapy does not create photosensitivity, light therapy is safe directly pre and post sun exposure. In fact, it is particularly beneficial at this time to strengthen and replenish the skin and repair damage caused by UV exposure.

Does LED light therapy produce Vitamin D?
No. Vitamin D production is triggered by exposure to UV light which converts cholesterol found naturally in the body to vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).

Does LED light therapy work equally on all skin types?
The treatment times have been calculated to ensure optimum results. Darker skins may require longer exposure times to have the same level of effectiveness.

Is there an age limit for light therapy?
As light therapy is used widely in the medical field including the treatment of jaundice in new born babies, it is safe for all age groups. However, the age limit is purely at the discretion of the clinic.

Do I have to prepare my skin for a light therapy treatment?
In preparation for a light therapy treatment, all makeup and skin care products including sunscreen must be removed to allow penetration of beneficial light into the skin. For optimum results, the skin should be exfoliated prior to exposure to remove any dead skin cells which may reflect the light. For enhanced results a topical serum may be applied.

Can makeup be reapplied directly after the treatment?
Yes. The treatment should be followed by the application of suitable skin care products including a sunscreen. Makeup can then be applied. We recommend the use of mineral makeup which will not block pores and allows the skin to breathe.

Can LED's treat Cellulite?
LED light therapy has a positive effect on those areas of the body where stimulated activity of the fat cells and lymphatic channels can result in reduction of tissue size. The treatment also stimulates fibroblasts, strengthening collagen and elastin fibres to tone and tighten skin.

What is the difference between professional and home use LED systems?
Any system that is designed for home use and without the guidance of a skin care professional will not deliver the same level of rejuvenation benefits as an 'in clinic' treatment. Home use systems generally have a smaller treatment area, are lower in power, have to be applied topically to the area of concern and require a higher frequency of treatment to achieve a noticeable result. Home use systems may be beneficial to maintain the results of a professional light therapy treatment.

Good Evening Guys

Hope you all had a great weekend. As some of you already know my cousin and I headed off to Suzanne Jacksons workshop today held in The Galway Bay Hotel. I felt it was only right to do a little blog post about the event as I enjoyed it so much. I wanted to share some of the highlights of the day with you all and for anyone that hasn't been to one of Suzanne's workshops already, you should really put it on your to do list.

The entire production was flawless and professional. I can't imagine the hours of preparation that must go into each workshop as the whole show is spectacular. Suzanne and her team run a very tight ship and she constantly engages with her guests.

It really is such a fab way to spend a girly afternoon, food was delicious, prizes were WOW and the style was amazing!! There were lots of brilliant giveaways on the day including a hamper sponsored by ourselves. I loved the fact that all the money collected from the raffle tickets also went to charity.

Suzanne kindly gifted myself and Tracy our tickets before the show but I would have absolutely no problem paying €75 as I honestly think you get more than value from the entire day. To be honest afterwards we both said there wasn't one thing we could have faulted from the day. From start to finish we were entertained and really enjoyed our day out. And we both had our bag of goodies going home too!
There were some nice treats in our bag, including a discount voucher from ourselves for some of our top treatments. I can't wait to try out the the Beverly Hills Formula black toothpaste! I've heard so much about it.
Suzanne gave us a lovely mention from the stage too, as her go to salon when she's in Galway Complimenting our team work at the Beauty Suite and how we are always updating our range of treatments and equipment. Plus a mention about our brows too
We had super seats at the show reserved for us by Suzanne and Dylan which was great! I know that at any of Suzanne's workshops the crowds start queuing mega early!!! So get there early if you would like front row seats I guess!

The show was packed with some amazing talent, I particularly enjoyed the makeup demos from makeup artists Sinead Murphy and Fiona Mc Namara. The girls created some gorgeous looks on their models which I will definitely be recreating.

The fashion show had some really nice trendy pieces also, there was one particular jump suit from warehouse that really caught my eye on model Leah Tiernan...(not so good on my credit card!!)

Suzanne obviously stole the show in her amazing ensemble from Caris Closet. Rocking her perfect pins in this beautiful dress. Makeup, hair, nails and tan was perfection. Suzanne was perfectly radiant as usual and her beauty would capture the audience alone. Even if she never spoke a word!! And I think everyone at the show today would agree with me.

So to wrap it up, if you are looking for a fulfilled beauty day out, check out Suzanne's workshop, you will definitely get value for money and more.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday night
